Etching & Woodcut
2021 / 2022
This page showcases a few copper etchings and woodcuts I created throughout 2021 and 2022. These pieces combine intricate details and bold designs, brought to life through two classic printmaking techniques I have come to appreciate: etching and woodcutting.
For the etchings, I started with a large copper plate, trimming sections as needed. Using an etching tool and an acid bath, I created fine, detailed lines that were inked and printed. Some pieces also incorporated a laser printer to achieve even more delicate linework.
For the woodcuts, I carved designs into smooth sheets of plywood, inking the raised surfaces and pressing them onto paper using a rolling printing press.
Each piece represents a mix of time, patience, and creative exploration.
